Collagenase AF-1 GMP grade by Serva/Nordmark
Animal Protein Free Collagenase
Collagenase AF-1 GMP grade is the first only collagenase made completely free of animal bsed components for tissue engineering and tissue transplantation. This collagenase is highly purified to provide high yields and viability of very sensitive cells. Collagenase AF-1 GMP is especially applicable to isolation of pancreatic Islets of Langerhans cells in humans. It is suggested to use with Neutral Protease AF GMP Grade (ref. no. 30306).
This collagenase is produced from Clostridium histolyticum. It is chromatographically purified and contains class I and class II collagenases mostly free of clostripain, trypsin-like and neutral protease activity.
Applications for Collagenase AF-1 GMP includes cell isolation of:
- Human pancreatic islets of Langerhans
- Dental pulp
Collagenase AF-1 GMP activitie(s)
- PZ (Wunsch): greater than 0.30 U/mg
- Endotoxin: less than 10.0 EU/mg (Ph. Eur.)
Each vial contains not less than 2000 PZ U of collagenase
Unit definition: 1U catalyzes the hydrolysis of 1umole 4-phenylazobenzyloxycarbonyl-L-prolyl-D-arginine per minute at 25C.
Endotoxin: Ph. Eur. (1 Endotoxin Unit is equal to 1 International Unit of a WHO approved reference standard endotoxin (RSE))
